There's No Place Like Home

If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with. ~Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz

Vicki asked us to post the view out our front door, so here is mine. I really wasn't too keen on posting my neighbors' houses, but that's what I see when I look out. I took this last week at sunrise.

To satisfy Vicki's curiosity, I took a shot of the view from my back door at the same time of day. I really like this picture because the sun is just washing over the trees in the back and the leaves are really starting to pop out for the spring.

I know that a mere two photos just won't do for Miss Vicki, so I took one of the bucket I have hanging on my door for spring and summer...

... and I took one of my swing in the back yard. It is right outside my bedroom window. This is where I like to sit and read, make my grocery lists, write and relax while the kids are playing in the back yard. Throw on a couple of pillows and it's a great place to take an afternoon cat nap or to just put your feet up. DH and I like to sit here in the evenings and watch the sun setting over the woods. Please also notice the gorgeous rhododendrons on either side of the swing that my sweet DH planted for me last weekend. One of them is starting to bloom today!!

Hope you enjoyed my view(s)! Visit Vicki at Catching Light to see more views.

You have a HUGE yard - or is that a field behind? A lot of space - I like that.

I've been admiring the rockers on some verandah's but now I've seen your swing I could easily be converted. The rhododendrons will be lovely and what a nice view to have from your bedroom.

ahhh your right friend. My dear dear friend! Two pictures would not have been enough.

The door decoration is just perfect!

That swing! I could so totally have my Sunday Nap on that swing.
