My 3 Dates a Week, Pic Results and An Idea!

I post a little about music and television, but have I mentioned how much I dearly LOVE the music reality shows?

Not only is the new season of American Idol about to begin, but this past week saw the launch of Grease! You're the One That I Want and my absolute favorite Nashville Star!

I can hardly contain my excitement!!!!

Rest assured that DH does not share my excitement, but he lovingly plays along. He likes to tease me as I try to finish my evening routine and get the kids to bed before the start of every show. "Only ten minutes left, Hun. Hurry!" he taunts.

I think he secretly likes them, but not with the fervor that I do. He'll make observations about what he thinks even though it doesn't matter because I am the only one who of us with any musical knowledge or who has ever, you know, cast an actual vote on any of them. Poor DH, he tries. He really does!

I don't vote every time and I don't vote feverishly (though I did for Taylor Hicks on the final episode), but I have my opinions. Oh yes I do!

I think that's why these shows are so wildly popular. Everyone has an opinion and most people are more than willing to voice them. It's also great fodder for the water cooler. I wonder how much productivity is lost to conversations about Idol; that would make for a great study!

So now I have dates for three nights a week with my TV and DH.

ON TO OTHER THINGS

Profile pic update.
I know all ten of you have been holding your breath desperately waiting to find out which pic will be added to my profile. Well, It's up and in my sidebar. Thanks to everyone who voted and thanks to Kellen for breaking the agonizing tie between #3 and #5. WHEW! That was a close one!!!

I will miss my Yahoo! avatar. She was so cute and skinny. It was nice to fantasize for a while anyways.

A Poll For You
I have been thinking about doing something for a while. I don't know how this will fly and it may not even take off, but humor me for a moment.

I've been thinking about this little blog o' mine and how I can let it shine... and yes, I have sung that one more than a few times. I am a big believer that if you are the recipient of an act of kindness, you should pass it on. I also believe that if you pass on an act of kindness, it will be returned to you ten-fold.

What a better way to improve the world than one act of kindness at a time??

SO...

I want to use Fridays as "Forward Friday". A day where we can post about an act of kindness you received or passed on during the week. I think it would be a nice way to wrap up the week and give a little extra brightness to the world.

I am willing to set up Mr. Linky and be the hostess if you all are willing to participate (at least once in a while) and spread the word to your favorite bloggers and readers. If you don't have a blog, you are more than welcome to leave your random act of kindness (received or given) in comments.

Any thoughts as to if this will work? Leave me a comment and let me know if you like this idea.

All you would have to do is come to work with me on a morning after A.I. We lose a lot of productivity. I mean a lot! I was thinking about not watching this year because it takes up so much time. We'll see!

Its addictive. There is no hope for you not to watch it! Once you have been sucked in by the power, there is no escape! LOL!
