My Christmas Home Tour

Today is Boomama's Christmas Tour of Homes. I am so excited to participate! If you want to see more homes or participate yourself, click here.

WELCOME!

I see you found your way here just fine! GREAT! Come on in!

I've got the coffee on and the eggnog is chilled. The Christmas music is going and the candles are lit! There's also some homemade brownies and sugar cookies, too. Have some!

I'm sure as you drove up you noticed the outside decorations.

The snowmen that DH and his Dad made.

The candles I mentioned in this post.

The wreath and the snowflake that my Mother-in-law made.

And the cheerful snowman on the garage door. That's the way we'll have to enter. You'll see why in a minute.

OOPS!!! We're under the mistletoe! :o)

I can't talk about Christmas decorations without showing you the stuffed animals... well, people... well things my Grandma makes for us every year. I think she makes about 30 or more of the things. She's made snowpeople, Santa's, moose, deer, dogs, frogs, the list goes on. Each adult female and each great-grandchild in the family gets one. She makes more for Easter.

The gingerbread people sit atop my patio door. Notice my sun catcher from Sam hanging in the window?
Some of the other things sit on a bench in the hallway.

And yet more sit on the back of the love seat.

Here's our nativity. It was given to us by DH's Mom. The stable comes from an old set that she had. It has a light in it which is on, but my picture without the flash wasn't great. She bought the figures for me a few years ago as a gift because the old one was missing a wiseman and was actually a mixture of figures from a couple of sets.

And here it is! The reason we can't enter through the front door.

Our wonderful, huge, great-smelling Christmas tree! It's hard to see in the picture, but there are about 8 strands of lights on it! Who says you can't connect more than 3 together?

One year we put it in our entry way and it has proven to be the best place for it. It's out of the way, but still very much a presence. It also helps when we host DH's family for Christmas dinner to still have the full functionality of our living room.

There are ornaments from DH's childhood, keepsake ornaments for each of the boys from the time they were born and some vintage glass ones from his Grandma. The boys also each have little trees in their rooms which are filling up with ornaments they receive from Grandmas and us.

The tree topper is an angel that DH bought for me for our first Christmas after we got married. She is supposed to be holding two candles, but a couple of years ago they wouldn't light anymore. I love her anyways and you'll have to pry her from my cold, dead hands to keep me from putting her up every year.

The tree is a great story in itself. It comes from DH's parents house. They live just down the street from us and they have a small pine tree garden in their back yard. Yesterday we cut it down and the boys and our niece pulled it down the road on DH's deer cart. You heard me right, deer cart. It's a cart that he uses to haul his deer out of the woods. Works GREAT for Christmas trees, too!

The kids will always remember doing this.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You're welcome back anytime! Y'all come back now. Y'hear?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!!!

You have great decorations! I had to really search to find stuff that looked Christmasy in my house. I am not a very good at decorating. Did you notice all the H & G Party stuff I have? There is something in several different pics. ha.
