A Very Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!! We sure did!

Even with all of the busy-ness that's been going on, I can't believe I haven't posted since Saturday!

The house has been buzzing with all of the excitement of the holiday, but thankfully, things went well and pretty much according to plan. We had a lot to prepare for, so I am so happy that everything turned out the best that it possibly could.

Our Christmas eve was spent at our house with my Mom, Step dad and Grandma coming over. About 3 hours before supper, Mom called and asked if my sister Ea and nephew Brayden could come as well. She said something about Ea bringing food, but I happened to have plenty. I love hosting parties and I really do enjoy when I find out there are more guests coming. I'm usually prepared for more than what I expect, so I am thrilled when my extra prep and planning is put to good use. We had such a great time and ate way too much!

Christmas Day is always very busy for us, but that's exactly how I love it to be! After getting to see Matthew and Steven open their gifts at home, we headed over to Mike's sister's house and from there we head to my Grandma's for the traditional Christmas Day brunch. I have to admit that I still get the same excited feeling that I did when I was little as we approach Grandma's street.

We don't usually actually eat at Grandma's, but we munch a little and always have fun. I have to admit that it wasn't quite the same today since there was no snow and there were some family members missing. It just didn't have the same feeling as usual. That's the only thing I would have changed about the day.

After Grandma's house, we trot back home to throw the turkey in the oven and prepare for Mike's family to come over for supper. Again, we had a couple of last minute guest additions. Mike's Mom invited his Aunt Jo and our niece's boyfriend is home on leave from the Navy. We had a huge meal and honestly, even after 18 people had their plates, it didn't even look like we had touched the food! I felt like a blimp about to explode!

We still have to get together with my Grandma Margie and Applehead and his family will be coming up this way this week and we hope to see them for a bit if time allows {THAT MEANS STOP BY, GUYS!!! :o)}

I'm glad we live close to most of our family and we can spend the holidays together. I surely won't be looking for any Alabama land for sale anytime soon! Hope your Christmas was a happy one!!!

We will try. I can't guarantee anything, I think it will be stretching things getting out of there to see grandma Norma.
