Shopping Today? NOT ME!

I did the Black Friday thing last year and had very good luck. I started with a plan, got in and out of each store with no problems and got everything I wanted. The city near us that I typically shop in is relatively small, so that helps.

The store ads for this year didn't have much of anything that jumped out at me- no deals that I "had to have." There was one item that grabbed my attention, but I didn't figure it was worth the drive at nearly $3 a gallon. I called my Sister-in-law on her cell to see if she had ventured out, as she usually does, and if she'd mind looking for it if she was going that way. Turns out she was on her way to that store next!

I was so glad I didn't go this morning. She said it was a madhouse this year and everything she had gone out for was sold out when she got there. She was disgusted.

I don't know about you, but my kids are having a hard time even coming up with things they want this year. My nieces are the same way. Matthew hasn't really mentioned anything in particular and Steven has mentioned an xbox 360, but unless Santa gets one hum-dinger of a deal, he won't be getting one of those. :o)

Do you have the same problem? I am not a big shopper to begin with. I like to go in the store, get what I need and get out, so going to the store without a clue of what I want to get is not my idea of fun. Mike is often the idea man around here. He comes up with some great gift ideas every year for our parents and for the kids.

Who comes up with the gift ideas in your house?

We ventured out to WalMart yesterday afternoon. It wasn't so bad because all the early morning shoppers had already gone home
