~I must start off with the Make It From Scratch Carnival #23. It is up at "...And Miles To Go Before We Sleep....". Bridget did a wonderful job hosting this week!
~On the subject of blogs, Shannon of Rocks in My Dryer is holding the Dog Days of Summer Great Bloggy Giveaway. Good Gravy there's almost 400 blogs linked up at the moment! I will be posting mine later on today. If you are interested in signing up to give something away, you'd better hurry. The linky will be closed Wednesday morning at 9 AM (CST). Get over there and start signing up to win some stuff!
On to some family stuff.
~This weekend, we got together and made homemade Pirogees. My niece Jordan (who whined because I don't blog about her or post pictures of her enough) decided to make a pan of brownies, but forgot to spray the bottom of the pan and didn't level the mixture before baking. This resulted in one corner of the brownies being so hard and so stuck to the pan that it broke the plastic server. Here's a pic (Jordan is holding the piece that broke off):
~We had a birthday party for one of my other niece, Audrey this weekend. She turned 2 last week and had the absolute cutest birthday party ever. It was a Strawberry Shortcake party. People, I ask you, what could be cuter than a little redhead dressed in a Strawberry Shortcake outfit?
~Yesterday, the kids and I visited the Velvet Ice Cream Company in Utica, OH. If you are in the area, I highly recommend it. We had a great tour guide, ate ice cream, visited the ice cream museum and bought some more ice cream to bring home. If you've never had their Butter Pecan and Cashew ice cream, you don't know what bliss is.
A couple of notes before I go... I'll be hosting the 24th edition of the Make It From Scratch Carnival next Tuesday right here. If you want to participate, you can find the guidelines here and submit your post here by Sunday.
Be sure to come back later on today and see what my giveaway will be. I'll also be giving stuff away at my food blog, The Fat Bottomed Girl.
