Where Have I Been, You Ask???

I guess I've been MIA from the blogging world much of the last two weeks. We're gearing up for our trip to Campbellford, Ontario. We go to Campbellford every year to fish and relax for a week.

It's a great way to start the summer off and it gets me in the vacation mindset right away. There's always that period of adjustment when the kids are suddenly home all day rather than in school, but after a week of being in a cottage and/or fishing boat with them, having them home is no big deal. Hey, at least they aren't swinging a fish hook within a centimeter of my ear in the house.

The last two weeks have consisted of checking lists, keeping up on laundry, finding all of our stuff from last year and much more. Here are some of the highlights so far:

~ DH got all 12 of our fishing poles ready with new line.
~ We got the breaks done, oil changed and tires rotated on the truck.
~ We replaced the faucet in our bathroom after DH broke it. We were trying to add water to our water bed and the faucet cracked when DH tried to take the end of the faucet off to hook up the hose.
~ I loaded up on supplies at Wally World and I'll need to go to the grocery store one more time to get a few last minute items before we leave.
~ I've gotten most of the stuff so we can have Steven's birthday party when we get home.
~ I've packed some of our clothes and towels.

Now it begins. It's a holiday weekend, but one that no one plans events for until a few days beforehand. In the last 4 days, we've been invited to 2 parties and Matthew's coaches scheduled a make-up game for Saturday at 10 AM. Then, this morning, I found a piece of paper in Matthew's backpack inviting him to a birthday party tomorrow at 1 PM. I don't begrudge the girl a party, but they could have given a little more notice. Not to mention the fact that I never hear Matthew talk about her. I'm not sure they even socialize at school.

I still have a ton of stuff to pack and lots of running to do. I also need to get in the basement and organize my freezer so we have a place to put our fish when we get home.

I'd better get busy!
