While trying to get my outside door frames repainted before the colder weather, I learned that if you cover your can of paint with a piece of aluminum foil and open the center, it will keep the rim of your paint can clean. Remove the foil before replacing the lid.
I only wish I had known that when I was repainting my porch posts last month. That would have saved me from the mess each time I had to open or close the can. :o)
