Does This Make Sense To Anyone?

I have a few acquaintances that have- what I view to be- a strange habit. These people attempt to live a "healthy" lifestyle. They eat healthy, exercise and try to avoid unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking. That is not so strange.

What I find strange is that they will only drink distilled water and take several different types of vitamins and minerals like Vitamin E, Curcumin and all kinds of others I never even knew existed. They have the same water in their taps that we do, but I don't understand the idea behind drinking the distilled water to avoid one thing just to have to take a pill form of these vitamins and minerals in order to get them.

Personally, I think minuscule exposure to whatever "impurities" may exist in the water can be a good thing for your body. Plus, there are all sorts of filtration systems that can remove unwanted impurities and still provide the natural minerals in the water.

I prefer to get my vitamins and minerals by eating the right foods and maybe taking a pill form of whatever I think my body may be lacking as needed. I also can't help but notice that these people have no less health problems than anyone else and that they tend to look unhealthy, pale and even unhappier than most people. I'd rather enjoy my life, enjoy my foods in moderation and enjoy my water straight from the tap. What about you?

I don't drink water straight fron the tap. I think it tastes bad. We have a filter in our fridge and a Britta pitcher. I can even tell when Jason males my tea with tap water! Yuck!

The best water I've ever had was from an underground spring near Muscatine, Iowa. The worst was suphur water in New York and at a bass lake here. But I agree with you. Tap water is just fine in most places. (But then, maybe our expectations may be too low *grin*)

As i was reading this, I remembered a news report last week about all the nasty things that arent filtered out of the tap water. I was enough to make me sick to my stomach. (but i do believe that my lack of house cleaning is what keeps my kids from getting sick! They are already exposed to germs at home. It takes alot to being them down!)
