Does The Fun Ever Start?

Book me a room at the Bellagio hotel! I've earned it!

After watching the Browns beat the pants off of Huston (GO DAWGS!), I was able to check quite a few things off my never ending "to do" list today. I got most of my outdoor lights set up, more of my indoor decorations put up and four loads of laundry washed, dried and put away. We also flipped our boat over to store it for the winter and brought in some of the things that we won't need in the winter. I'm ready for a break.

On second thought, cancel that room. I still have a lot to get done. I'll be off work yet tomorrow and babysitting besides that. Its funny, but I don't really look at babysitting as work.

People often ask me how I can go home and babysit after working at the school all day, but I really do love it. These kids are like my own and I enjoy spending time with them. I'm happy to provide a place their parents can drop them off and know that they are safe and cared for while they are at work or school.

I'm a little apprehensive about the coming week since several of my in-laws have come down with the stomach flu. I just hope it stays away from us! I know its a long shot since we all spent the holiday together and everyone made food that everyone ate. Oh well, I guess its bound to happen. I just dread the nights of cleaning floors and bed linens. Blech!

I guess I don't mind as long as I don't get it. Not that I want anyone else to be sick- its just so much worse when you feel terrible yourself. Then, when you do feel better, there is all of this stuff waiting for you... laundry, regular cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. Its enough to make you crawl back in bed for a few more days.

Which would totally defeat the purpose and actually make things worse. SIGH!

Anyway, I plan to hit the grocery store sometime tomorrow and prepare. I already have my ginger ale ready and waiting, but I don't want to be without some chicken soup, bread and crackers.

Okay, now I'm hungry.

Speaking of hungry, I made some great discoveries in my freezer when I cleaned it out this weekend. I found a pork roast that I had cut from a whole tenderloin earlier in the summer and two packs of deer tenderloins. They must have gotten moved to the bottom after vacation when I loaded all of the fish in there.

I also used some leftover roast to make Stroganoff yesterday. It turned out really well! I'll try to post the recipe for it on my food blog sometime this week.

Well here's to a clean freezer--who said moms don't get tips.
